Boys Cooking Day
|
|
Today the boyz cook their own lunch. Of course with mama's supervision. In the morning, before doing market'ing at the grocery shop nearby, the four of us excluding papa had breakfast at the kedai next to the grocery shop. The boys ate nasi lemak telur since kerang takde & mama took mee goreng.
Lepas makan, singgah kedai & bought the things to cook Soto. Cukup time, the boys helped mama to cook. Semua interested betul nak tolong mama nih..Any Chef in the making? tak kisahlah janji succesful. . We had soto with mee & mihun jugak since the three of them have their own favourites..Hmm..bagus jugak teach them cooking atleast bila besar esok takdelah mama nak cook for them sampai tuaaa..

Anniversary at Bali - Last Day at Bali (Town- Spa-Airport)
|
|
On the last day we spent our time relaxing at the Kuta beach. This time only 4 of us since Cik Zizah is not feeling well. We jln2, eating & relaxed ourself by the beach. As expected met the topless tourist getting themselves tanned. From beach, back to hotel by taxi. From hotel mak & abah rest in hotel & both of us went to pampered ourselves at the SPA located in Melasti Hotel. Paid only 182K for both Am & myself. Very2 relaxing & rejuvenating. Must go again!!. After Spa, we went to Discovery Mall & have lunch at Pizza Hut. Tapau some bread for the others at Breadtalk & reach hotel at 4.30pm.
At 6.00pm we checkout & was sent to airport. Flight home arrived as scheduled at 8.10pm & we reached KL at 10.30pm. Around 11.15pm we left airport with Cik Wahid who was kind enought to fetch us. Went for roti canai & teh tarik 1st & then proceed to Koni's house. Around 12.30am left Koni's house & reached home at around 2am. Waaa...once at home, then only I felt so tired & was missing Bali already. Insyaallah will go there again next year & that time around will bring the boys together.

Anniversary in Bali - Day 3 -Part 3 (Tanah Lot-Nite at Kuta)
|
|
Habis lunch we proceed to Tanah Lot pulak. I'm telling you, the RP300K (RM117) we are paying to the supir are actually sangat2 worth it since the journey is like from this part of the world to another part lagi..Just imagine asking yr hubby to bring U to Cameron Highland. From yr home at Ampang U nak bfast at Selayang & gi shopin' at KLCC & pas tu singgah ke Bjaya Time Square. Straight ke CH for 2.5hrs journey & pas 2-3 jam gerak turun lunch somewhere & straight ke Bukit Cerakah. lepak few hrs there & balik Ampang..Fuh..x penat driver..mau giler yr hubby mengaruk...
Okay back to my Bali trip, Tanah Lot is very famous for sunset viewing. At Tanah Lot you will find another famous temple by the sea. When the tide is low people can walk to the temple. However, if air pasang it'll looks like a floating temple.
For us, we are not keen on visiting the temple but we lepak2 at the cliff & drinking air kelapa & waiting to enjoy the sunset view. There are also so many matsalleh tourist there waiting for the sunset. The journey from entrance to the place we took this picture is quite far for someone with a sprain leg so Cik Zizah stayed at the shopping area accompanied by Cik Ali. When we are there, we saw 2 couples having their marriage ceremony there. One is a matsalleh couple wearing Balinese outfit & another one is a Chinese couple wearing gown & tux (cam si Daphne Iking tu lah aritu..) But the place where they had the marriage ceremony is at the other part of the cliff, so private sikitlah..
Sunset at Bali is around 6pm so once we balik to the shop around 6.30pm it was already dark mcm 8.30 here..We head back to hotel & rejected Pak Aris offer to bring us to Jimbaran for dinner.
Reach hotel, we kept our things first & walk to Discovery Shopping Mall. Karthi is a strategic place & is near to all. Jln2 in the mall & after that we had our dinner at Kebab Palace which is infront of Karthi. Quite tasty but my MIL & aunty are complaining that the sauce tak sedap. So for sos lovers, pls bring yr own sauce to Bali next time yer.. . Finished dinner, the others back to hotel, papa & mama go jln2 to find the best spa place & once tired balik bilik, mandi, smayang & tidur..

Anniversary in Bali - Day 3 -Part 2 (Lake Beratan BEDUGUL)
|
|
To Bedugul it takes +- 2.5hrs from Sanur. In the van everyone managed to get a relaxing short nap since the journey is quite far. However the journey was a worth it as Bedugul especially Lake Beratan was such a very beautiful place to visit. Don't know how to express it but to say "beautiful" only is an understatement.
Bedugul is located in mountain area encircled by the cold temperature and also natural nature and beautiful panorama. It is similar to our Cameron Highland where there is traditional market selling agricultural product like vegetables, fruits, strawberries etc. But the view was so superb & breataking & nothing compared to Cameron. Our 1st stop at Bedugul is to “Ulun Danu Temple”. Here we need to pay RP7500 each(RM3) for entrance. Once we were in Ulundanu, we were stunned to see the beautiful sight & calm Lake Beratan. Papa was saying that it’s like a “syurga dunia”. Located in the middle of Lake Beratan is the Ulundanu Temple which seems like it is rise out of the Lake Beratan.
The view here were very picturesque that we took tons of pictures here. Once finished, we proceed to the Bedugul mosque for Jama' prayer. Later, we proceed to the Tradisional Market where we got cheap strawberries here. One pack was sold only RM1.90 compared to RM7-8 at KL.Mama also bought few items here such as necklaces, tiger balm, keropoks, table mat etc.
After spending few hours here, Pak Aris drove back down & heading for a place to have lunch. As usual it is another nasi padang since only nasi padang is confirmed halal in Bali... Uwaa..am so bored of eating nasi..I want to eat noodles or mee goreng mamak!! got really bored with eating nasi padang 24 hours:-O

Anniversary in Bali - Day 3 -Part 1 (Kuta Beach-Sanur Beach)
|
|
Since papa's mother "Wa" has found “pork” in most of the cafe hotel menu, we decided not to eat breakfast at the hotel café. We only requested boiled eggs, butter & jam and have it take away. We decided to have breakfast at a Muslim shop or nasi padang once our supir arrived. On the 3rd day we use Pak Aris, a Muslim supir. Same charges apply as Ary’s which is RP300K per day. (RM117 for whole day)
Once Pak Aris arrived, he brought us to a nasi padang restaurant. Since no roti canai or nasi lemak can be found here, we have no choice but to eat nasi padang for breakfast. Mama took nasi putih, tempe goreng, tauhu goreng & air teh botol. My bill was only RP5000 which is RM1.95..hmmm if only the café in office charge me this amt for lunch..
After breakfast, we proceed to Kuta beach. Here, mama bought some necklaces while being massage by an old urut lady. The nenek’s urutan was very relaxing & effective it clears all my stress & tiredness. I paid her RP20K(RM7.80) as requested without bargaining.
Next, we proceed to Sanur Beach. The beach was very quiet & not many tourists here. For those who love quiet vacation, bolehlah stay sini. Enjoying the view, go spa most of the time & jln2 tepi pantai. But for me, I still love Kuta area more, if I wanted a kampong area, make as well I go to Pangkor aje..
We spent only half an hour in Sanur as not much to see here & proceed to Bedugul. Before we reached Bedugul, we saw few ritual ceremonies by the local Hindu people at their Puras or Temple. Along the way to Bedugul, we also viewed beautiful scenery of the carpet of rice terrace.

Anniversary in Bali - Day 2 -Part 2 (Kintamani-Sukawati)
|
|
After finished our mirror shopping at Ubud, we continue the journey to the mountain village, Kintamani. Before arriving at Kintamani, we stop for a beautiful view of picturesque rice terraces at Tegalalang. It is such a lovely view to see the sculptured rice terraces. After taking pictures there, we continue our journey up to the mountain of Kintamani for Mount Batur & Lake Batur view.
We reached the top of Kintamani just about lunch time. So since everyone pun dah quite hungry, we proceed lunch at the Batur Garden Restaurant while watching the beautiful breathtaking scenic view of the still active volcano and Lake Batur. This restaurant serve halal foods & cost RP50,000 plus 21% tax. Total of both papa & mama’s bills are +-RM62. Quite pricey for a lunch at Bali but very2 worth it as we enjoyed the picturesque view which is not to be found anywhere. Hey...bila lagi nak have lunch while watching the active volcano rite? After lunch, we went to the surau or musolla which is just at the lower level in the restaurant.
After spending few hours here, we drove down & stop at the Bali Coffee, Cocoa, Cloves & Fruits Plantation. Here they show you how the coffee is made & gave free tasting.
Then we proceed to Sukawati Art Market. This is the Bali shopping heaven since the prices are very2 cheap. Damn cheap..Bought more Tshirts, souvenirs, pants, bags, slippers, wood albums etc….
Before heading back to hotel, we asked Ary to bring us to Restaurant Nasi Padang for dinner. We reached hotel at 7pm & spent the night resting…

Anniversary in Bali - Day 2 -Part 1 (Barong-Batubulan-Ubud)
|
|
Day 2. From KL, mama has already booked a “supir” with transport to bring our group for tour. The day we arrived, Ary-the supir called to confirmed the trip.
We had our breakfast at Hotel. However since the hotel served non halal foods, we only had bread with butter, jam and boiled eggs.
Sharp at 8.45am, Ary the supir arrived with an Avanza. Since mama has done some travel homework, mama just advised Ary our planned itinerary tour. Ary suggested that we watch "Barong Dance" first & immediately brought us to watch the dance at Denpasar. To watch Barong Dance, an entrance fee of RP50,000 (RM19.50) per person is required. The Barong dance is truly a triumphant display of bright colors and graceful movements. Watching Barong Dance are quite confusing if you don’t read the synopsis first. Luckily we managed to grab the dance synopsis at the counter & have better understanding on the performance. For tourist coming to Bali, it is a special performance to show Balinese cultural & beliefs. The show lasted for nearly one hour & by 10am we are already in the van to Kintamani.
After Barong Dance, we make our 2nd stop at “Sari Amerta” at Batubulan. Here we were shown the batik processing & also visit the batik shop. Since batik were also produced in Msia, this is a common experience for us. As it is a tourist spot, the price is quite expensive & we didn’t buy anything there.
We proceed our journey & stop at Ubud Market. Here we didn’t spent long time since Ary has advised to do our shopping at Sukawati which is much cheaper. Anyway, mama grabbed few T-shirts for the boys, wooden box & fridge magnet with a satisfactory price.
On the way up to the Kintamani mount, we stopped at a mirror shop on a hilly road near Ubud mkt. We bought 2 really pretty mirrors. The big striking red mirror cost only RM11 & the solid blue plate was sold at RM5. Wa & Cik Zizah were also attracted to the mirrors & bought few mirror themselves.
